The very first step of my first project was to visualize the design process. The elements of the UX activities were already given and I had to place each activity into one of the following categories: Discovery, Concepting, Prototyping and User Testing. Then I explained which sub-stages of the user-centred design process might be most important for my course project.

I had to choose from the four options for the project and present the one that I liked the most. At that point I didn't have to make my final decision, it was just a part of the decision-making process. At first, none of the options (expert app, tattoo app, treasure hunt app, weather app) caught my eye, but I wanted to choose a topic apart from these that I like to do in my personal life. I had gotten a SUP board for my birthday recently and I immediately linked the two things and found it exciting to design an app for SUP-pers. But which one of the 4 options can be the most useful? I thought that a weather app can provide the handiest insights like the answer for the question"Is the weather good enough to go paddling next weekend?" My mentor also encouraged me to build more features in the app besides the basic requirements, so I decided to add a route planner, route tracker and SUP-mate finder feature as well. Here‘s my submitted task:
